So, I am trying to get my friend to play BrokenLens with me but he doesn’t have an XBox live account. He does have a regular XBox account though. So my question is, do you need an XBox live account to play servers or just an XBox account?

So Microsoft, (or as I call them, the Bane Of Gamers) had said that Mojang is going to release Cross-Play and the "Super Duper Graphics." What concerns me is that it's a 4K thing so it may or may not be on the X Xbox 1. BUT... If it releases on consoles such as PS4, PS3, VITA, Win 10, etc...
