You can earn trophies by commenting on or posting threads in sections of the forums. Although, profile posts don’t count as actual posts, and same goes for commenting on profile posts. And this does not mean your allowed to spam, you could (or will) get warning points for doing that, maybe even a temp ban from the forums.
