Evie's and Retro's bodies were placed on the flower petals and sent off down the stream the
next morning. The villagers voted once again, and a shocked mayor reviewed the votes. Ace
shook his head.
"Before you kill me," he addressed the crowd. "I will pass on my role as mayor to Ally, with
the hopes that she'll lead HeatherBelle to greatness."
He beckoned Ally onto the stage, where the sinister noose stood.
"Here's the most precious thing I own; take good care of it."
Ace handed Ally a magnifying glass, and her eyes widened. Before she could speak, Ace tied
the noose and died within minutes. Ally gulped as two villagers hoisted the dead mayor's body
from the rope and onto a petal.
"We've killed our beloved mayor, who was trying to bring justice to HeatherBelle." Ally
announced grimly. "He was our detective."

Later that night, a knock on the door woke Gray up. He rubbed his eyes and opened it; Juno
bolted into his house and slammed the door.
"They're coming!" Juno screamed at Gray before collapsing at the doorway.
Gray yelled out as a rose burst through Juno's throat. At the same time, the door burst open
again and a knife went through his stomach. Roses bloomed from the wound and Gray fell
next to Juno. She was squirming on the ground, shaking her head vigorously as the female
murderer approached her. The last thing that Gray heard was Juno's screams.
