Fame

I got up, dreading for another day to come. I looked in the mirror, and there was me, my tired self. I got dressed for the day and put by hand on the doorknob to go out. I sighed, today was just gonna be another stressful day. I turned the doorknob and walked past the doorframe.

The door shut behind me and the entire room was pitch black. Well, almost. There was a window, and a purple light was shining through. I looked through it and saw thousands of people with twisted faces outside staring at me. Fear went through my entire body, and I backed away from the window. Something tripped me over and I fell down, and when I looked back, a person with a twisted face like the one outside was staring at me. I quickly got up and ran.

I don’t even know how long I had been running for. Hours, minutes, days even? Who cares. Those people with the twisted faces kept chasing me but giving up, and so many more stared at me while I ran. I closed my eyes and hoped that everything would just go away.

I opened my eyes and I was in complete pitch-black, just falling down. I looked around more, and the people with the twisted faces rose up while I fell. After falling for some time, I hit the ground, but it didn’t hurt for some reason. I got up and patted the dust off of me, and that’s when I realized. I was surrounded by those twisted face people and they kept getting closer. They all said the same things, like “Let me be your friend!” or “Help me grow!”, these d*mn leeches!

I can’t push them away anymore… they’ve destroyed me, taken all of my energy… I broke down and screamed out before those people were on me, and when I opened my eyes, I was on the floor of my apartment. I got up and looked around, but everything was normal. I went straight to my bed and flopped down on it, dreading the next day. Only that tomorrow, it would be worse.
