Welcome to the RLCS story! This is typically a series where i blab about Rocket League related things! So i guess i’ll start!
It had been announced. The Rocket League Championship Series was coming to life. This is where “the world’s most exciting esport” ‘s story begun. $55,000 in cash was about to be distributed, after two days of high class action. Both Europe and North America had their opportunity to show the world which region was the king of Rocket League. It all begins, in Los Angeles.

After hard fought contests in both regions, the 8 teams had been determined, and it was time for kickoff.
DAY 1 OF 2:
One of the fan favourites, Northern Gaming are coming in hot against North America’s fourth seed, Genesis. With Northern Gaming and Flipsid3 Tactics both dominating their region, Genesis had an up and down kind of season. They didn’t seem to know what was coming from a solid looking Northern Gaming.
The world championship begins.
As the fans expected, within 30 seconds of game 1, Northern Gaming had scored the opening goal. And already, Genesis seemed to be struggling. It took NG just 50 seconds to put in the second, and a two goal lead was already in place for Northern Gaming. They were looking good. Performances weren’t stopping at that for Northern Gaming as they proceeded to score two more goals, making it a 4-0 scoreline as a result in game 1. NG were playing as expected. Going into game 2, NG picked up exactly where they left off. After just 4 seconds, Genesis found themselves behind. Time was passing by. Genesis were yet to score in the series. Eventually, one of their players stepped up, and brought Genesis to a tied game, 1-1. After the goal by Genesis, the ball went back and forth, over and over. Eventually, NG broke through the defence, and had acquired the lead again. 2-1, with just 1:30 left. More back and forth. NG’s defence held strong. 25 seconds left, Genesis had found a shot. It was a heroic save, which resulted in a counter attack. The dagger had been enforced, and 3-1 was the score. The game concluded at that, as the defence of Northern Gaming held strong. Going into game 3, it was do or die for Genesis. At least a game would be good to take, as that would give the team at least some momentum if they can’t beat out NG in a reversed sweep fashion. Yet Northern Gaming’s dominance continues. Within 30 seconds, Genesis were 2-0 behind. NG were suffocating the team. Boost stealing had become the game for Northern Gaming, as they got more and more comfortable in the series. Northern Gaming’s defense finally broke, as with roughly 3:50 left, Genesis had split the lead. Genesis continued their momentum as they took another goal at around 2:48. Again, after the goals, the game was back and forth, and back and forth. Genesis survives the strong offense of NG, and enforces an Overtime in Game 3. Northern Gaming came out strong after just 22 seconds, scoring the goal, and taking the 3-0 win against Genesis. They proceed to the Upper Semi-Finals, as Genesis drop to the lower bracket.
