i hate to be "that" person but you can't expect people not to give their opinions. like, of course you want to show the staff team and the builders you appreciate them (especially the builders because they often get overlooked as a part of the staff team). that's what this thread is all about isn't it? showing your admiration for the team and all they've done for this community and you. it's good to know that they're being appreciated.

however, people read these threads more often than they comment on them. sometimes certain things trigger an emotional response to something that happened in the past and many people often feel like their point isn't getting across and so they begin to act out. no opinion is ever unwanted and that type of mentality is what's going to only fuel the fire. emotions are rarely ever just "simple" and to be honest, many things here and in real life can be incredibly controversial so again, these sorts of disagreements are not uncommon. i'm not saying you should delete the thread or anything like that, i'm just saying that you should try and not become obsessed with trying to back up your point of view to someone who isn't ready or willing to understand it yet.

not to bulge in but all of the staff and builders are working everyday just to make this server in shape and they don’t deserve the hate they’re recieving. they’re human too and you’d think they can handle so many reports everyday? if they’ve ignored you it’s just unintentional, no need to be butthurt about it. though i’ve been really toxic in the past i really appreciated how every staff member or every builder works because they are really hardworking, and they’re doing this voluntarily. they ain’t getting paid to check on you- so don’t even complain or be toxic at them since they have a life outside BL too.

we have to thank staff for everything they’ve done! they’re so nice and well-mannered! we need to appreciate them.

though, like what @CinderPuppyEyes said we have certain staff that we admire or ‘one of our favorites’, we shouldn’t disrespect or be toxic in one another. most importantly, we shouldn’t disrespect staff. we may be bias in other ways, but we should respect each others’ opinion and as much as possible without picking a fight since it’s unnecessary.

I did in no way mean to pick fights with people, but it really confuses me how people can't control what they *type.* yes, controlling what you *say* irl is super hard, but controlling what you type is far easier. You can control what you type on a thread, especially a thread like this, but some people refuse to. It's frustrating, especially for me. I really just wanted to make a thread to show staff that we love and care for them, but ofc people had to come along and bash on the thread. Take a step in my shoes and see how that might be frustrating for me.

i can easily see how frustrating it is and how infuriating it can be to have to keep trying to prove your point again and again. i'm just saying that sometimes it's easier to just let it all go rather than trying to get someone to see something the way you do.

This on periodt, if ppl got problem with certain staff for certain reasons that's THEY problem, ppl shouldn't try to convince them they wrong, they kind of have to figure out they r wrong themselves (except when they not in the wrong)

Ppl got their own opinion, and in this case, it's not really harmful when ppl speak out n say "i don't like this staff bc...". It gets harmful when it become harassment, bullying, etc.

probably gonna be irrelevant but fr, to the creators of the thread, with everything that happened such as people asking for certain staff to be promoted as well as people's general favouritism to their friends who are staff, it's not going to be uncommon for people to have preferences to the staff they like more than others and it's nothing anyone should take personally other than the player and the staff member. let's be real, giving a staff appreciation thread right now IS probably the boost of morale the community needs, that doesn't mean everyone will agree with you.

and, upon saying that, please don't pick fights with people about their opinions; the way you view things will not necessarily be viewed the same way by someone else even if you thoroughly explain it to them in ways you think will help. people find things out on their own most of the time due to experience and not everyone's experiences are the same which is abundantly clear due to the range of opinions on staff members. just, if it's really bothering you talk in a convo about it or get the player and staff member to sort out their differences privately. many staff members deal with this sort of hostility all the time - some more than others. i'm sure they all have ways of dealing with it so there is probably no need to start becoming fired up and aggravated on their behalf every time.

but yeah, just throwing my two cents in which is probably irrelevant but oh well

<3 I'm not really bothered by the negative comments. It takes a lot before something even starts to effect me. We just wanted this to be an appreciation thread for y'all. I don't mind the negativity though, but I'd just perfer it's kept to a minimum on this thread. I mostly want people to thank you for everything you've done.

I completely understand and agree with your terms. However, I don't think asking for staff to be promoted is a good idea because (if I'm correct) vertx is muting players who are asking...and I don't want that for anyone...So yes, everyone is free to state their opinions!! But, I would perfer they keep an open mind about what it is they are talking about.... I don't want this thread to be the only thing people get muted from. <3
