Previously on Escape the Night...
Our ten guests were invited back to the age of the Industrial Revolution by a mysterious figure known as the Savant. They soon come to realize the person who invited them all was none other than an old friend presumed to be dead. However, there was a catch to them being invited to this era. They were caught up in a mission organised by the Society Against Evil and now must assist The Savant in cleansing 8 different artifacts, each artifact needing a soul from the modern world to cleanse it. Who will Escape the Night?

LOCATION - THE MAIN LOUNGE
TIME - 10 PM
"Ok, guys" Megan started, "I received the first artifact from the Society Against Evil. They gave me this riddle to solve as well. The riddle should lead us to how we can start cleansing it." The artifact was a rusty gear.
"I mean, the artifact is a gear with rust on it. Can we not just use white vinegar?" - Arya.
The piece of paper Megan received along with the artifact had the following riddle written on it: What has a head, a tail, is brown, and has no legs?
Cakey read the riddle carefully and discussed her thoughts with Arya. "What do you think it means?" Cakey inquired. "I have no idea... I was going to say a dog with no legs..." Arya replied, slightly confused by what the riddle meant. Eric walked over to the girls with Santa and Cakey proceeds to ask them both the same question. "I think money...? Some coins are brown." Eric replied.
"That makes sense!" Santa exclaimed. "Guys we think we solved it!"
Everyone gathered around as Eric explained the discovery he had made. "It's some type of coin. A coin has a head and a tail, can be brown and has no legs. Megan, do you know if there's any sort of room in this mansion that holds money?"
"I'm not entirely sure, Kim? Vert?"
"Yes, there's the treasury. Follow us", Kim replied with eagerness.
LOCATION - THE TREASURY
TIME - 10:10 PM
The room was full of coins. However, Maddie finds a note taped to the back of the door. "I suppose you aren't as stupid as you all look..." Maddie read.
"How rude! Whoever wrote this note has no clue who we are!" - Dist
"I mean... we all accepted an invitation from a stranger... who isn't a stranger now but was at the start. The point is - they're not wrong." - Ash
Maddie continued reading the note. "The answer was a penny. However, as you all can see, the room is full of gold coins. There is one penny in this room. Once found you must give it to the item that is not alive but grows, that does not have lungs but needs air and that does not have a mouth but is kiled by water. You'll find out what needs to be done next once this tasked is completely. - The Gamemaster."
"YOU'RE SERIOUSLY TELLING ME THERE'S SOMEONE WATCHING OVER US RIGHT NOW?!" - Jay
"I knew this place was weird..." - Anmo
Everyone immediately turns to Megan and questions her about this. "The Gamemaster must be the evil we need to defeat... I'll be honest, I didn't know about them existing."
"I know we all kind of want to kill Megan right now, but we need to find this god dang penny and solve another riddle. Let's just get started and figure this out." Maddie said, glancing at the others.
"Thank god for Maddie, I think she's going to be a good ally in here. We won't escape without her." - Megan
Everyone started searching for the only brown coin in a room of gold. "This is impossible!" Arya complained. Cakey tried her best to encourage Arya and help her out but Arya was still being negative.
10 MINUTES LATER...
Ash finds the penny in the left hand corner of the room. Everyone is relieved. Soon, Eric notices a painting of a fire and realizes that is the answer to the riddle. Ash helps Eric take the painting off the wall and before their eyes is a safe with a slot reading "Insert penny here". Ash does the honors and the safe opens.
"Guys, we got a key and a note!" Ash exclaimed. Eric started reading the note:
"Well done, guests. This is a key to the basement. Inside the basement is the deadly machine. The gear you have in your possession is the key to starting it, however, to stop the machine, you will need to override it. Two of you must be selected by vote to be strapped into electric chairs found in the machine. The two voted in must select another to help them override the machine. The first person to override the machine will win the challenge and the person who they are fighting for is safe. The losing person voted into the challenge will be electrocuted to death. Go back to the main lounge to begin voting. - The Gamemaster."
LOCATION - THE MAIN LOUNGE TIME - 10:30 PM
Everyone sits on the couch in groups and start discussing who to vote for. Soon, Vert gets their attention. "It's time to start the voting."
The results of the votes are as following:
Amno - 2
Arya - 1
Maddie - 3
Jay - 2
Dist - 1
Cakey - 1
Jelourd - 1
"I will now select two at random." Kim said.
Kim took two names out of the hat.
"The first person into the challenge is:
Anmo."
"The second person into the challenge is:
Arya."
Everyone is shocked. Out of the two names selected, they had both shown they were helpful. Anmo selects Eric to help him while Arya selects Cakey to help her.
