Chꍏpter 5- Why's Eric...?
“E-excuse me but who are you?” Neko asks her.
“Um, it’s a long story. By the way, take the secret elevator next to the bookshelf, it’s faster to get up here. Now, hurry!”
Everyone gathered together into the elevator and went up onto the floor they started.
“Hey, watch it,” Tan complains.
“Careful with my makeup!” Icy replies.
“This place stinks,” Dist sneers.
“Everyone, shut up!” Santa yells, covering his ears.
The elevator ride was smooth, playing some ‘80s rock music as they were in there. Finally, it made a bing sound which meant that they have arrived.
“Ayo!” Elk happily waves at them from the front door with a bunny hat on her head.
“Oh, so you’re Elk?” Ian questions.
“No, I'm Eric," There was an awkward silence. "Just kidding, who else would I be? A ghost, hehe? Alright, follow me, you chumps.”
They all stumble out of the elevator since it was crowded and start to follow her steps through the gigantic mansion.
“To start,” Elk puts her hair up in a ponytail, leaving the bunny hat. “This place isn’t safe at all. The only reason why I’m still alive is 'cause… I'm the only company he has.”
“But doesn't he have us?” Evie remarks.
“Yea, that’s the thing though. He sees you as… well, trash pets.” Elk wiggles her shoes.
“T-trash PETS? Who does this guy think he is!” Vsol rages.
“Yea, sorry if you guys see it like that but that’s how he sees you guys, sorry.”
Everyone goes quiet for a moment.
“So, um, Elk, how did you end up here?” Super questions.
She stops herself in the middle of the hallway, looks out the window, rests her hands on the cold window and begins speaking, “You see, a long time before ‘Eric’ became king, his father adopted me from the orphanage and had me as company for him, kind of like a friend. I always read him stories at night and even played some chess with him whenever he was in a good mood. Sadly after his father passed away, he took charge of the kingdom but forgot that I was going to live with him. He didn’t like that idea and threatened me many times that he was gonna kill me whenever he got the chance. Never did.
So now, I just stick around this place day and night, never leaving this place. He was nice enough to tell me every trap in this mansion. But, one thing, I haven’t seen him in 4 years, even though we live under the same roof.” Elk starts to shreds some tears under her eyes but wipes them away so nobody notices.
“Oh, well, sorry to hear that.” Wolfie looks down.
Elk doesn't say anything.
“Hey, guys!” Miner waves to them.
“I’m a girl! Have some respect!” Sadly shouts.
Miner rolls her eyes in front of her, “I think I found something.” She starts to walk to what seemed to be a gigantic room with an iron door in front of it. It was locked, and could only be accessed inserting a PIN code.
“Oh, nice Miner! Just one question, how the heck are we supposed to enter without the passcode?” Windex says.
“Just leave that to me.” Elk pushes through the crowd and onto the the iron door. Elk pushes some buttons on the keypad, making a few “beep, boop, meep,” sounds but once she was done, she stood back from the iron door. “Everyone, stay back!” She spreads her arms in the crowd.
The room started to shake, a few thinking that something was gonna drop on them, some even laying down in case if it was a swinging chainsaw. The iron door opened with a bunch of gas coming out of it like a science lab with a failed experiment.
“Yikes, I ain’t going in the-” but the rest of the group wasn’t listening to Bear and Windex complaining since they’ve already headed inside the room.
“Once again, we’re outvoted.” Windex and Bear whine.
Inside the room, was a ton of blue cement walls along with a blue cement floor. But other than that, a bunch of seats around them that looks like an arena.
“Woah, what is this place?” Unloved asks.
“Honestly, I don’t know. This is my first time coming in here. And to be clear, I don’t think I’m allowed in here.” Her cheeks turn red.
“I don’t like the feeling of this place.” Windex adds.
“Winde-” Icy was about to fight with him but she remembers that Windex was right about this place. So, she decided to not continue the sentence and keep on moving.
“I’m out.” Ian throws his shirt onto the ground and heads for the exit.
But it was too late as the door slammed shut on them once again, but this time, with Elk.
“Really? This again?” Dist gives the finger in the room.
“Now now, no need to be so harsh.” A deep voice echoes from the walls.
“Holy shoot, this is an arena! I’m just realizing this…” Neko shivers.
“Hmhmhm, yes my sweet darling, welcome to it.” The voice smirks under it's breath.
“W-what do you want from u-us?” Elk yells out bravely.
“Oh, you. You’re that pet that my father used to have all around. Now, look at you, all worthless in those clothes you have been wearing in the past 3 months. Pathetic.” He laughs.
“What the hell do you want from us!” Sadly and super yell while keeping their breath.
“Oh, so glad you're asking.” The room starts to shake beyond their feet.
“Shoot, what’s happening?” Evie and Wolfie ask.
After a few minutes, it stops.
“What did you do?” Ian yells.
“Oh, nothing much,” continues to laugh.
“Let us-” Tan starts to vanish as black smoke starts to spread among the room.
In the blink of an eye, the whole room was covered in black dust. No matter where you looked or where you were standing, you couldn't see the blue walls nor the blue floor anywhere.
People tried to scream from every direction but it only seemed to make them weaker. In under 5 minutes, the black smoke cleared up but everyone was on the ground, not being able to move.
The only thing they could hear was the laughter that this "Eric” was doing. After that, they were snatched into a garbage bag and saw only darkness from there.
What seemed like hours later, they all woke up tied to a chair, lined up in a row.
“Yo wtf, not cool! Let me go!” Sadly shouts as she struggles to let herself free.
“Well, thank you all for joining my party!” Eric laughs in front of them. “And a special thanks to Elk, for leading them right here.” Elk stares down at them with a sad smile.
“YOU TRAITOR!” They all yell.
"I'm... sorry, but, there was no other way... out." Elk starts to cry.
Bullets pierce through their heads all at once, each head having a perfect hole right in the middle while blood drips all over the floor.
