It actually happens when you did something wrong in the forums, like disrespecting a staff member, or you are always saying inappropriate words and stuffs.
Vertx is the one who can mute people on forums, I think you can ask him to unmute your account if you feel like it was mistakenly muted.

Uhm, nope, Vertx isn’t the only one in the forums which can mute - we also have a forums bot, you can be muted for spamming, inappropriate language / behavior, cussing, sometimes if you’re being super rude as well your forums account gets temporarily muted.
We unfortunately don’t have any info on it though, Vertx is currently inactive so we can’t ask him.
