They could’ve used /friend notify
It doesn’t show that you’re online to your friends xD
Edit: Ima make it more clear xD It doesn’t show that they are online in grm, like if they are your only friend online it’ll show ‘0’ in grm, and you can’t join and spectate them

There's an option for people with ranks to do /friend notify
It will make sure that there are no signs that they're actually online, but they can chat like in GRM, FRM, TRM, etc. but you can't actually join them because again, they might've used /friend notify
