You need to guess or calculate the distance, speed of the enemy, and velocity?I'm pretty good with bows.
If you work out aiming, angle and possibilities, you'll land a hit on someone that's on the edge of your sight (Render Distance).

Yes on oitc I shoot 2 hackers 50 blocks of floor and in 1 try each I shot a bit above but easy kill
