Welcome to Parabolas and Quadratic Functions.

When you throw an enderpearl, you can apply parabolas into the scenario. The vertex of the parabola is when the enderpearl starts to fall, and the x-intercept away from the (0,0) coordinates is where the enderpearl will land. The fatter the parabola, the farther your enderpearl goes.

Solve the quadratic formula to see where your ender pearl will land

I failed at throwing my epearls super far away. Like, 4 failures in one day

P.S. I dont know what Im doing. Im not really serious anyway. Bye

I use prediction to aim my pearls in the correct spot. I use my instinct to think of it's landing position.

.-. lucky

My friends who play a round with me see my epearl somewhere only to hit edge and fall down

;o
you mean you dont solve quadratic formulas every time you throw an enderpearl?!?!
ive been doing this all wrong

Easier way:

Build up
Pearl down (to other island)

You get a clear view of the path for the epearl

I would say the vertex of the parabola is when the ender peak reaches its highest height in the air since that would be the maximum in a downward facing parabola.

Oh and if you guys want to graph the parabola, vertex form is your way to go :3

y=a(x-h)^2+k
a: represents the dilation and reflection of the parabola. Because throwing the enderpearl means a downward facing parabola, a must be negative.
h: represents a horizontal translation
k: represents a vertical translation

All transformations listed above are from the parent graph f(x)=x^2
