Exactly! I’m not sure if there’s anyone here who’s uncertain about watching anime but let me just explain something.

The beauty of anime is that it isn’t just your average cartoon style associated with childhood (e.g Mickey Mouse) so it can explore deeper themes and it doesn’t feel shameful to like it. Also, because it’s animation, the producers can use this to their advantage and they obviously do.

For example, the anime “Your Lie In April” shows the thinking process of a musician beautifully - how everyone has their own reasons for playing or not, etc but its real beauty hides in the art style. It emphasises the aura of one character which adds to the emotional attachment to them.

Another example is “Angel Beats!”. It explores the philosophy behind suffering and the existence of God while being comical and uplifting. However, most of the anime wouldn’t be suitable as a childlike cartoon due to its theme of death and it would have a more sinister effect if it was live action.

My point is, there are anime out there that don’t use fanservice at all. There are beautiful anime series out there, trust me. Anime is one of a kind.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand anime. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also hentai's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike anime truly ARE idiots

Anime is love and life honestly if my mom caught me watching that she wouldn't do a thing because I grew up watching these things with my brother, but if she caught me watching hentai ooo that's a story for another day
