What's the point of map submissions?

So, as the title explains, what's the point of map submissions? All I see from it is weeks and months of effort for a map that won't get added in the server. I'm not saying that this server is doing a horrible job at looking at the map submissions, I'm just wondering what the point of it is.

Also, have any map submissions actually been accepted?

Another thing I want to talk about is that new MM map. That wasn't from map submissions. Where was that map from? Where did you find it?

One of the builders for the server probably built the new one (which reminds me, I haven't played MM since it was added - I should check it out)

Yeah, you should check it out. It's a very dark map with not a lot of hiding places, but it's a really good looking map

Yeah an mb map has been accepted from them someone called Xerise made it you should know it.
But if vertx's builders are gonna be the only people making the maps I question why map submissions is there

I feel this. I have requested about a dozen minigames and ideas by now and they get like what, 2 replies? Plus they never get added. It's a waste of time for me. I have stopped requesting games because they never get looked at and it's a waste of time planning them and typing the threads.
