It had been announced for Fall 2017, but more recently, the full release was confirmed to come out "before the end of the summer". This update provides cross-platform compatibility[1]and ports the Pocket/Windows 10 version to the Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. The iOS, Apple TV, Android, Windows 10, Kindle Fire, Fire TV, Gear VR, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch editions will be merged under one title"

._. There is a licence version of Minecraft and a piracy one. The piraced one means u got the game for free, so after the better together update your gonna need to buy the actual game, the licenced game.
