Wolfie's point of view
Fallen leaves crunched underneath Wolfie's boots. Nearby bushes rustled as small animals scrambled to hide. The majestic trees stood surrounding them, tall and proud. The bushes were alive with splashes of red and orange berries. The only thing was, none of them knew which ones they could eat and which ones they couldn't.
Pixie put a finger to her lips, motioning for him to be quieter. Only she had managed to retrieve a backpack from the cornucopia, Wolfie had been unsuccessful. Although, in his defence, there weren't many near him.
Pixie's backpack had contained several knives, bandages and a water bottle - filled with water. No food, and they had nearly run out of water.
Pixie jumped over a fallen log. "If we had a bow we could hunt for food. Do you know how to make one?"
Wolfie shook his head. They were both pretty useless without proper weapons and supplies. He should have tried harder to get a backpack - instead of running deep into the woods.
Pixie continued walking further into the woods, she gripped a knife in her hand. Even with leaves in her hair and mud on her face, she still looked beautiful.
Pixie stopped in her tracks. She looked at Wolfie, her eyes wide. She pushed him into a bush and jumped in after him.
"What are you-"
Pixie put her hand over his mouth. "Shhh!"
After a few minutes of them awkwardly sitting together in a small, enclosed space, Pixie took her hand off his mouth and listened closely for any noise.
"I thought I heard something earlier," she whispered. "And it wasn't anything friendly."
"Whatever it was, it's gone now."
Pixie nodded and waited for him to go first.
Wolfie cautiously peeked out from the bush, before coming out entirely.
"It's clear," he motioned for her to follow him.
As he scanned the area, Pixie timidly emerged from the bush.
Then he heard her scream.
He whipped his head around to see Pixie fall, as if in slow motion, towards the ground - an arrow embedded in her stomach. A girl with long, black hair stood nearby, her bow aimed at where Pixie had been a few seconds before. The girl was standing next to a massive spruce tree - she must have been hiding behind it.
Wolfie yelled with rage. He stormed towards the girl, throwing several knives in her direction. One of which, hit her in the leg. The girl fled as fast as her injured leg let her. Wolfie pursued her, until he remembered Pixie. She was lying on the ground, all alone. Dying. She probably thought he abandoned her. Or worse, another tribute had finished her off.

Wolfie held Pixie's head in his lap, he was frantically trying to stop the bleeding from her wound. The moon had long since disappeared behind the treetops. He had to get them both somewhere safe quick.
"Stay with me, Pixie. Stay with me."
Her face had turned deathly pale. He looked around for a bush big enough for the both of them - nothing.
Just as he was giving up hope, a small white parachute landed. A little, silver box was attached to it.
It's a gift from a sponsor, he smiled to himself, to save Pixie.

Pixie's point of view
Pixie awoke to the sight of the full moon. Stars were dotted around it, much like the backpacks around the cornucopia, except no one could take the stars away from her... Or could they? Were these even real stars? Or were they just lights on the ceiling of the arena made to look like stars?
One of her favourite things to do back in District 1, was to gaze up at the stars. It always calmed her. It always made her feel like someone was there for her. The fact that the stars might not be there for her now, was alarming.

She was lying inside a bush, there was a small gap in leaves for her to see the moon and stars. Only when she tried to move, did she realise how much her stomach hurt. It felt like acid was burning inside her. There was a hammering pain in her head. She let out a small whimper.
"Pixie! You're awake." Wolfie was sat next to her. He was looking down at her, his eyes wide with worry. He didn't look too good - his face was pale, his eyes nearly lifeless. She couldn't even imagine what she must look like. Her legs felt like pieces of wood - heavy and stiff. Her throat was parched, she longed for water. Her head was swimming with tiredness. She had a strong urge to just fall back asleep - then she wouldn't have to worry about anything.
She raised her hand to her forehead, trying to stop the pain.
"We got a gift from a sponsor," Wolfie explained. "You should feel better by tomorrow, or at least be able to walk."
Pixie nodded, well, she tried to. "Do we have any food or water?"
"Nope," Wolfie replied solemnly. "Tomorrow we'll have to find some."
Pixie tried to nod again.
They sat there for a while, gazing up at the stars. Birds tweeted in the branches above them, leaves swayed in the wind. There was no sign of any tributes nearby, maybe they were all resting for the night, as well.
The pictures of the deceased flashed in the sky. Only two tributes died that day - both the tributes from District 9.

"I was thinking of my life back in our district," Pixie ate into the silence.
Wolfie didn't reply for a minute or two, then he sighed. "I've been thinking about my life a lot."
She couldn't see his face in the dark, so she couldn't see what expression he had.
"I was thinking about my sister - Phoenix." She squinted into the dark, trying to get a glimpse of his expression.
"From what I saw at the reaping, you two are quite close," he paused. "I wish I was close to my siblings. All they do is outshine me."
She thought for a second. "No one outshines you in my world."
That sounded so corny, she mentally slapped herself.
She could practically see him blushing, even in the dim light.
Now he's going to say you're awkward and leave your team, idiot.
Instead, he moved closer to her. He looked straight into her eyes, their faces inches apart. She could feel his warm breath on her face - only then did she realise she was holding her breath.
"I love you, Pixie."
Boom!
Just her luck, a boy admits he likes her - something explodes.
"What was that!?" Wolfie stood up, alarmed.
It was impossible to miss.
A forest fire had started.
And it was coming their way.

Fire's point of view
Fire and Aypi trudged through the woods, cringing as they stepped onto leaves, knowing that that could be the cause of their death.
Fire walked quickly and carefully, trying to shake off all the buzzing insects crawling up her legs.
She was on team with Aypi, and so far they had managed to avoid any other tributes. They were both quite squeamish about blood, so they agreed they would be the sly team, and only kill someone if their life was at risk. Fire felt on the verge of tears when thinking about all the kids who had to have their life taken away from them at such a young age - including herself.
She and Aypi both decided to look for food and water sources, then camp in a tree somewhere near the sources. Because, they had been told it was safest to camp high up, where people wouldn't see them.

The dark trees stood tall and blocked the view of the sky. It was about midday and the sun was shining down on them, but the trees simply wouldn't allow any light through their branches.
Fire looked down at her legs. They were covered in cuts and scratches from the brambles and thorns that jumped out at her. She was pretty sure one of the plants that had scratched her had made her sick, or maybe even poisoned her. But she didn't tell Aypi. She just kept on hoping that they would have some sponsors and she would get sent medicine for it. She told herself not to think about what would happen if they didn't find any medicine. She set her mind on their task - finding food and water.
Her leg throbbed with pain; she felt like being sick. But she couldn't let Aypi find out. Not until they settled down, at least. She didn't want to be a problem and make them have to camp somewhere, with no food, and possibly destroy their chance of survival.

They kept walking through the woods, dodging outstretched branches, not to mention tripping and falling numerous times. Until, Fire spotted some purplish things in the distance, pointing it out to Aypi. They looked a little like berries, but even if they were, none of them knew a thing when it came to knowledge of edible and non-edible plants.

As they neared the purple berries, they seemed to get smaller and smaller. Every time Fire took a step closer, the berries would fade away and disappear, then she would spot them again - every time further away.

After about thirty minutes of chasing after the purple berries, they stopped, climbed a tall pine tree and sat there for a while. They had agreed that the berries were merely a hallucination from their hunger. She had never hallucinated before, but she knew that the Hunger Games could drive people crazy until they became positively insane.
Fire had a pretty good view of the arena from where she was sitting, and she could make out some people in the distance. Two boys and a girl, all with black hair. She decided not to alert Aypi, in case she decided they had to move again. She couldn't bear anymore walking, her head was killing her.
By now, the sun had set and the sky was pitch black. Although the moon wasn't in sight, the sky was lit up by dazzling stars cascading out of the night sky.
Just as Fire was starting to feel safer, the gnawing in her empty stomach started to make her feel light-headed and nauseous. She put her hand on a branch next to her to steady herself and stop herself from plummeting to the ground. She felt exhausted and she laid her head down to fall asleep, but that's when she noticed something bright red in the distance, which seemed to be coming towards her. She instantly knew what it was and immediately sat up, which caused her stomach to do a front flip.
"Aypi, quick! We need to get down and run, NOW!" Fire quickly untied herself and climbed down the tree, despite the throbbing pain in her leg. Her life was at risk, and that was what mattered.

Aypi's point of view
Just when Aypi thought she was going to get some proper rest, Fire shook her awake and yelled in her ear.
"Aypi, quick! We need to get down and run, NOW!" Before she could ask why, Aypi felt herself being pushed to the ground. She was lucky she didn't break a leg, or worse, both of her legs. She got off the floor and brushed herself off, as Fire jumped to the ground. Fire grabbed her hand and ran, just as a bolt of fire came hurling right past her, and this is when Aypi realised what they were running from.

A massive wave of fire was closing in on them - there was only only one way to run - north.
The fire was running up trees as if they were step ladders and burning sticks that lay helplessly on the ground. The fire was the only light in the forest, as it was dark and the moon and stars were hidden by clouds. The heat was so unbearable that Aypi was sure she was about to collapse. She could even imagine this as the end.

Aypi and Fire ran hand in hand for what seemed like hours, the fire not disappearing from behind them. Aypi's legs felt stiff, but she kept running, despite stumbling on twigs. She heard a boy scream, then the noise of a cannon. She tried not to think about it too much - who would anyway?

When Aypi was quite sure she was quite ahead of the fire, she stopped, realised Fire wasn't next to her. She turned around to find her on the ground a couple of metres away. Aypi ran at full speed over to her and tried to pull her up, but Fire couldn't stand. Her face was deathly white.
"Fire, please! We need to leave before we fricking burn to death!" Aypi screamed. Fire nodded her head towards her left leg. It was a sickly green colour and looked extremely painful.
"Fire! What happened? Why didn't you tell me?" Aypi sobbed. She felt terrible. All this time Fire was suffering and she didn't even notice?
"I... I got p-poisoned by a plant, I'm n-not sure w-which one though..." Fire croaked. Aypi could hear the fire crackling in there distance and she suddenly remembered they were in danger.
"Fire, we need to go now! You can do it! If you... If you die I'll never forgive myself!" Aypi cried. If Fire died, Aypi probably would too. She didn't have any food, water or supplies.
"Go..." Fire coughed. "Go without me. Please. I'm not gonna make it, but you might as well try. Go quickly, before we both die." Fire managed a weak smile and pushed Aypi away. "Go!"

Aypi got up and ran, just as the forest fire closed in on Fire. She heard the cannon and burst into tears, but kept running. She had to keep going. For Fire.

That was it. Fire and the the forest fire were gone, and now she had no team mate. She was alone. The forest fire had also lead her near to the cornucopia, and that meant she was near the careers.
