8 years later…

Hi guys, some of you may remember me from years ago, some of you not, but my username at the time (I think?) was Neuer28. I was on brokenlens when I was 11-12, which feels like forever now. Well, my real name is James, and I am now 19, and a footballer - and I suspect that growing up cycle is true for many of us from around that time

and it’s crazy how far (and fast!) life has gone and taken us since we either left Minecraft or lost BRLNS, but when I was growing up, this was one of the few places I would properly show up every day haha, getting an email out of the blue from here, while I’m in the middle of a professional footballer camp, was absolutely not on my bingo card - it’s sweet in a way, brought back a lot of nostalgia despite me and many of us growing up, it’s life!

Whether me as a kid was being a strange person on forums, being obsessed with the Murder Mystery on the servers, or getting banned for x-ray texture pack that one time (sorry!) , it’s brought back a ton of memories that I smile laugh about these years later when I got that email

I received it, and with all the unexpected nostalgia it brought me - I felt compelled to come here to say something. Whether this is seen from you as my first intro, or as a reconnection with some of you after many years, this is what has come to mind. It’s good to see this place again

It’s mental. Was the last thing I expected to see when checking my new emails. It’s crazy to think we were once all part of each others chapters

Honestly i’ve mostly been working lol yayy capitalism
Waiting for a decision on my student visa (and also for uni housing to get back to me) rn which will completely affect my next step and it’s so stressful.

oo nice, I hope that is going well, and yea it has been pretty hot here recently. It's getting into July too so it's not cooling down either (at least where I am lol)

Yea for the visa they say it could be up to 6 months (i don't think it will be that long but who knows). Housing idk but I'm wondering if it won't be till July/August or later. I'm also just impatient lol

definitely gotta have aircon.
i've been trying to go to the ocean on the weekends the water is ~60F here rn and feels WONDERFUL.

It starts in February, so I do have time. But I need to book flights eventually and I want to have plenty of time to figure out housing I don't get an on campus room.

We don’t have aircon in the UK, u less you walk into a shop that was built recently, and the buildings are built to retain heat rather than get rid of it I have a year abroad coming up which I have to sort out hahah

Ah yeah my second year starts in sept, gotta travel across the UK to get back hahah I wish we had weather like they do in the US, 30°C is a literal oven here in the UK. I’ve been around the world and 30°c in other places, is NOT 30° in the UK

oh no that sounds terrible. Apparently it's somewhat similar here, a lot fo older homes dont have ac/only installed it recently. I'm in the Northeast though, so we haven't been as bad as some other states.

a year abroad is so cool! do you know where you're going yet?
