What you do when you a noob?

I tried to mine obsidian with a wooden pickaxe. But, now I know it's easier with stone.

I thought diamond spawns at the dirt level

I dug out 60 blocks wide on the surface area

I also made a house out of sand (and the roof had to be made of dirt) and I blocked the doorway with sugarcane so mobs wouldnt get in. That worked well.

Well...I tryed to mine a cobbestone block without using a pickaxe
