not a rank, it's just an option, if i remember correctly, it's if you don't want to see people's skins in the hub, or see what people say

The 'I' before somebody's username just means they have a toggle on that makes everybody in their lobby invisible. You'll still be able to see them, but they won't be able to see you.
You can toggle this on and off by clicking/holding the blue dye (Settings) in your hotbar and then scrolling down to where you see players enabled.

However once you go into a match, you'll be able to see players again as usual.
