Unable to join my friend via Xbox Live

I am unable to join my friend via Xbox Live.When I try to,it will load for a while and say unable to connect to world.Is this because we live in different countries?

No my friend is half way across the globe and I can play with them

•Outdated version
•Not connected to WiFi
•they left the world

If you are talking about BrokenLens. The main or the possible problem is :

• Your Minecraft version is outdated.
• Check your Wi-Fi if you are connected into it.
• You have different Minecraft version(s)
• They already left the server / world.

Ask your friend / the person who the world belongs to, to relog.

That usually helps.
