This is a rebuttal of my previous ranking maps thread. New maps have been added and so I decided to rerate and give an explanation for each of them!
Note that these ratings are personal and does not mean that the builder or map is bad. It’s simply what I think are good for me.
22. Map X - Morray Towers
This map is a rebuilt of the now deleted Map F. The reason why it’s last is because it’s a very awkward map to play. I want to use bow but at the same time I want to use shovel for this map. I don’t get much high scores nor is a fun map to play. Honestly, the previous map was better.
21. Map A2 - Mountain Pass
This map is also awkward to play but not as much as Map X. Though the bow does a very good job on this map. It can get narrow sometimes but it’s not too bad.
20. Map Z - Cyber Town
This is the first time where we splat something different than wool or glass! Even thought it’s unique choice of concrete instead of wool. I put this at a lower ranking because it’s also a bit awkward or weird to play. There is no smooth or flat spot to just spread your ink around except the pool. If you need more things to cover the, the walls and the top of the building has plenty of space but you’ll need to swim up there. You can also enter inside to cover more walls. Despite it being low ranked it can give you pretty good scores!
19. Map U - Walleye Warehouse
This map I used to dislike for being too small and very flat, plain and boring. Now I see it’s a actually an okay map! You might not get high scores but it’s good overall.
18. Map O - Garden
Similar to Map U I thought it was plain trash! Skinny, narrow, small, little to cover and ultimately bad. It favors ink sprinting and ink swimming but I actually think it’s funner and more challenging that way! I love to use bow on that map even though you get low scores.
17. Map B2 - Snow Castles
At first, I thought this map was kinda bad but it’s actually pretty good. Even though it’s small there’s lots to cover! Also like the use of white wool being here. Kinda sad we can’t enter the water fountain but overall good map!
16. Map K - Urchin Underpass
This map is a reboot of Map C. More things to cover and a secret passage. Love the simplicity great for both weapons! Good map overall!
15. Map W - Japan
Another reboot and another great map! Loads of space to spread ink around with your bow but also shovel too! Just a great map!
14. Map N - Race Track
This map is a bit weird when just starting the round as you have narrow paths to ink and move but the middle is the goal! The middle having open space for coverage is great! You can get pretty good scores here!
13. Map G - Airport
Ah yes! The first new map to be added to the game! The bow is incredible here due to having long narrow paths and an open space in the middle! Again, great map!
12. Map P - Camp Triggerfish
Both weapons are good here and actually had a hard time deciding between these three maps but I think Map P is better though these three can tie for 12 place.
11. Map Y - Lunar Base
Honestly, I haven’t played on it much because it’s really buggy for me so I’m judging it based on my first 2 or 3 games when it just came out. I got great scores so this map is pretty good too!
10. Map T - Parking Lots
Although this map is simple and flat, you can get really great scores on it! I don’t know why but something about it just makes it a great map!
9. Map H - Metal Machines
This map is really good too! Both weapons are good for this map though I prefer bow. Nothing much to say other than being just a great a map!
8. Map I - Hammerhead Bridge
The map is buggy for me sometimes but that won’t stop the fact that this is excellent! Lots of space to cover with bow! One minor problem is the cyan wool on the start of the map that can give cyan team an advantage but other than that it’s a fantastic map!
7. Map L - Kelp Dome
This map is pretty popular when showing up on voting and it’s fine by me since this map is great! Loads of space to cover and definitely a great improvement from the previous Kelp Dome map which is Map A. Yes! Yes! Yes!
6. Map J - Mansion
A small map that can give you loads of points! But because it’s small killers can really get you. Overall an excellent map!
5. Map Q - Flounder Heights
Top 5!!! Whooo! This map is pretty big, open and flat! This map is just terrific with the bow.
4. Map S - Arrowona Mall
This map has A LOT to cover! The walls, windows, and the big ramps! Everything about this is great! One bad thing is that killers can camp the ramp and due to having a height advantage they can kill you without you landing a single hit on them. But if you’re lucky you might get really high scores.
3. Map M - Mario
I honestly don’t get why this map has such a bad rating on the app. I know the map is small and killers can really get you good on this one but literally almost everything in this map is coverable! Just camp at the top and spread your ink all around! You can really get some monster scores on this map!
2. Map R - Birds
This map is big. It gave me 3000 scores many times. That’s all you need to know.
AAAAAND FINALLY THE NUMBER ONE MAP IN SPLATTER IS!!!!
1. Map V - Colorful Town!!!
Gigantic map with loads to cover! I like the roads more than the middle. I think it’s safe to say that this is the BEST map ever! Thanks Lucas and thanks to all the builders who worked hard on these maps even though some weren’t as good, i’d rather play on a bad map than no map at all! Thank you Vertx for making this game! It is my favorite!
