My theory is that when the builders were making that map, they used the stone as a focal point in the center to build around it and just kinda forgot it existed. It doesn't really serve a purpose, rather than be there for decoration and/or as a spawn point.

I see what you're trying to say. They're rounded on purpose because I used reference when drawing the glass, and some of the shatter lines in the photograph were forming kind of a circle with the straight lines going through it. So I tried to imitate that, as if the glass were hit by a hammer or...
