I just looked it up and apparently, the trees are named so because their leaves spread out, like a hand I guess. Well, ya learn something new everyday!

I feel so feeble, I think my pun banks are running dry... I must've been ill when writing those responses, as I would not usually give up that easily to a word jousting session. Oh well xD (I feel very verbose at the moment, must be those English lessons)
