You can sign out of Xbox Live to play on your old IGN until the update is released

If you already registered on the server with your Xbox Live name, you can still play on BL with that IGN without being signed into Xbox Live. But once the update comes, you'll need to be signed in.

but i dont need any apps to sign back in?

I don't think so... I think you'd just use the 'Sign In' button on your MCPE home screen. I don't know anything about an app.
