What even is Early Decision?
Early Decision (sometimes called ED, or EDI and EDII; more on that later!) is a binding early application process — meaning that if you apply Early Decision, you're committed to attending if you're admitted.

As its name might suggest, the Early Decision application deadline is, well, earlier than other notification plans — but so is your admissions decision! NYU offers two Early Decision options. Both are given equal consideration and result in binding admissions decisions; the only differences are the deadlines and decision notification dates:
