You meet a nice mimiga named Toroko who attacks you, mistakenly thinking you're an enemy working for the villian. You hit her once and she falls, screaming for help until she learns you aren't working for the villian. As you talk to her, the villains henchmen arrive and kidnap Toroko, mistaking her for a different mimiga.
Later, you learn about a plant that enrages mimiga to blood thirsty and irrational monsters called red flowers, located in a place called Sand Zone. The villain wants to use these flowers, and he found them.
He wants to test the flowers. One of his henchmen suggest they eat the flower, but he refuses and asks his henchmen to test it on a mimiga. Toroko is teleported in and forced to eat the red flower.
Another mimiga, called King, arrives to try and save Toroko, but it's too late. King gets hit by a lightning bolt from the villain's henchmen and nearly dies. You arrive and the villain leaves you alone with the rabid Toroko.
What makes me sad is that you're forced to kill her. There's an alternate to reverting mimiga to a sane state, but you don't know about that method and you're too far away from it.
