I have mocks coming up ;-;
Teachers at the start of the year: I know it's a busy year, but make sure you have time to relax, you shouldn't be too stressed out
Teachers now: EVERY SECOND YOU ARE NOT STUDYING IS A SECOND WASTED THERE IS NO TIME TO RELAX YOU SHOULD BE STRESSED ABOUT THESE EXAMS
Next term I have CXCs (think of Harry Potter OWLs). They're treated way differently from regular exams, so at the end of this term we do mocks - mock CXCs. They have the kind of questions the real thing would, and they're treated just as seriously. It gives us students an idea of how the real thing will feel and it gives the teachers an idea of how we'll do in our CXCs.
Wow, that’s a big deal! Are they similar to SAT’s? I have to take the SAT’s in a few years, and it’s already stressing me out. I can’t believe how stressed out you guys must be! Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll do fine!
Sort of, but it's all subjects that you take instead of just math and English. I have to do Math, Language (those two are compulsory), Literature (wish I'd dropped it), Chemistry, Biology, Physics, TD, and Spanish.
You think eight's a lot... The Guyanese apparently do way more.
Most people in my year take seven subjects. There's only one other person taking eight, and I don't know about her but I am really regretting that choice. In fact, we chose nearly the same subjects - she just does F&N instead of TD
I used to take more subjects when I was in Korea, but now I only take 6 subjects. I don’t think anyone here takes more than 6. Do you take 8 in one day? I remember we used to spread all the subjects through the week. My friend lived in Germany and she did the same thing.
Oh, yeah, they're spread through the week. On a given day we don't normally have more than four subjects (if you're talking about actual lessons, not the exams). Thursday's the exception for me, though (Thursday's have ALWAYS been the worst timetable, my entire life).
With exams we only have two exams in a day
