Love. I have so much love for this community and everyone who has ever been a part of it. There isn't much left of BrokenLens these days, but my goodness, it was magical while it lasted. I can't quite put into words what this place means to me - it's a deep feeling full of gratitude and joy. To everyone I met here - thank you for being a part of my life! I'm so glad we had the chance to meet and I hope you always have the courage to pursue your dreams. <3

Hi! I'm Ray, it's great to meet you! I hope your day is going well and if not, I hope tomorrow is better for you. I'm writing these paragraphs kinda late at night and I may go off on a long tangent or something - I'm also not too sure what I'm writing about here as it's not exactly about me that much, so please feel free to stop reading if you get bored, I promise no offence will be taken xD
I joined this site in May 2016 when I was 15 years old - I'm now 21 and sometimes when I log on to the forums, I feel like I'm way too old to be here xD But this place and this community are incredibly special to me. I've been here since a few months after the forums were created so I've seen all the highs and lows, all the ebbs and flows; I've seen countless people come and countless people go.
The population of the forums has changed immensely over the years as new people made themselves at home here, and old people decided to spend less time in this place. I feel that the atmosphere of the community continually changed as a result of this - y'know, all of us humans are different and we all bring different things to the table. Which is honestly such a cool thing and I'm glad it's that way! But hey, as much as I try my best to be an eternal optimist, I think it's pretty clear to see that the forums' best days are now behind it. The servers closed down in April 2022 and shortly after that, the forums became a lot quieter and quite a bit lonelier.
These days, there's usually no more than a couple of people online and the "new posts" page is really empty, and the vast majority of the friends I made here haven't been on in a super long time. I don't know exactly how much longer this community will be able to sustain itself, and how long this site will be around for. A year? Five years? Two months? But regardless, I'm going to show up for as long as it's still here! Like I mentioned, this place is incredibly special to me; truly, I can't put it into words. The people here have been a huge part of my life for the last few years - no matter where I was or what I was up to on any day, BrokenLens was never too far from my mind.
I've been rambling for a while now so thank you for still reading if you've made it this far xD but yeah. I am indescribably grateful that I stumbled upon BrokenLens over six years ago and I'm so, so thankful that I was able to have a home in this community. If you're reading this, you probably know me, so thank you for being a part of my life. I'm glad we had the chance to meet and I hope you always have the courage to chase your dreams.

hii, fabulous human! if we've never met before, most people call me Ray but you can call me anything you'd like - I have a bunch of nicknames that range from "Palmtree" to "Ray Bay" to "Raylian" so feel free to call me anything xD I live in the UK and I'm currently 19 years old. I know, I'm so old, don't remind me xD like honestly I feel a bit out of place here because I'm definitely one of the oldest members (in terms of age and in terms of how long I've been here), everyone here is so young and cool; I wanna be 16 or 17 againnnn xD *play Seventeen by Sharon van Etten*
anyway though, I've been a member of the BrokenLens community since 2016 and being here has been one of the most wonderful experiences I'll ever have. I started playing on the servers with my siblings, at first, then after a few weeks, we joined the forums!! I don't really go on the servers anymore, but if you'd like to play with me, I would love to!
there's a bit of a weird situation with my IGN, which I'll explain if we play xD
however, I'm active on the forums! I've created so many beautiful memories here and I can't quite articulate how I feel about this place; it's a really deep feeling with flavours of love and happiness and nostalgia and gratitude. it isn't a feeling that can be expressed using words. I've met people here who I love and admire with all my heart, and I hope to hold onto some of those friendships forever.
the forums have changed a lot over the 4 years that I've been here. people have come and people have gone and I feel that the atmosphere is continuously shifting, much like any community of people, I suppose; it's certainly very different from how it was last year, which in turn was different from how it was in 2018, and so on. the shape of the community changes every time a new person joins or an old person leaves. but although the shape changes and the size grows and cracks may appear, it's not going to fall apart. and I think that's beautiful.
to every single person here that I've ever talked to - I love you and I'm so grateful that I had the chance to meet you. from wherever you are in the world, however much we've seen each other, whatever we've talked about, you've been a part of my life in one way or another and that kind of connection is irreplaceable. I hope you know how incredible you are. I hope you follow all of your dreams because your dreams matter. you're going to change the world, so keep going.
and um... yeah! if we haven't met before, then hey, it's really nice to meet you and I hope we become friends!! And if we're already friends, then hiya, I miss you, we need to talk more xD

ANYWAY, as I was saying, Ray's a pretty chill, inspiring person. He knows positivity like an old friend. Actually, they ARE old friends. Ray's an amazing friend to have, he finds ways to help you even if they are pretty stupid. Actually, the stupider the better. Why? Because MORE LAUGHS!!
Ray's super friendly and approachable, so don't hesitate to say a simple "Hi", because you won't regret it. Okay, you know what? Personally, I believe he 's worthy of the title "Senpai".
... I regret my choices. But trust me, he is. He's conducive and smart, plus he's... again, I can't believe I'm saying this, but...
